“I was severely out of shape, and the things I was doing on my own weren’t working.” — Peter
Peter, 48, had always been active and was careful about his diet, but when he started having trouble taking weight off, he knew it was time to take action.
“I wasn't happy with what I felt like and what I looked like—I felt that I was severely out of shape, and the things I was doing on my own weren’t working,” says Peter, 48.
In high school, Peter had been an avid athlete, playing football and basketball, as well as running track. He continued playing football in college, and afterward, he was still able to lose weight that he put on, but “then it just slowly kept creeping up to the point where I was struggling to get back to where I was.”
Peter was watching his diet and exercising regularly, but “some of the processed food I was eating—like fat-free pretzels—were not as healthy for me as I thought, and the way I was working out wasn't conducive to losing weight.”
He wanted to look and feel more like he used to, and as a middle school teacher, it was important for him to have enough energy to keep up with his students throughout the day.
